One of our trustees here at the Rose attended the HAKA Lunch last Friday, in aid of The John Smith Trust and the Laureus Sports Foundation.
The John Smith Memorial Trust was founded in 1996 to provide a permanent memorial to one of Britain's best loved politicians. The John Smith Trust seeks to promote good governance, social justice and the rule of law by nurturing a new generation of leaders committed to making a difference in their countries and societies.
The Laureus Sports Foundation promotes the use of sport as a tool for social change and celebrates sporting excellence. Their core concept is simple, brilliant and daunting, to create global awards that recognise the achievements of todays sports heroes.
These charities tie in well with our objectives, which made it an easy decision to support these two great causes. We made a donation of £1000 that is equally split between the two charities.
